Syndromic infectious disease testing for Pneumonia. This Panel detects more pathogens than culture. It is difficult to grow organisms in culture if they are fastidious or if a patient is on antibiotics when a sample is collected. This Panel identifies nucleic acid even when the organism will not grow in culture. In the clinical study by the Manufacturer, this panel identified a bacteria in an additional 27% of sputum specimens.
